From the Master's Station in the East:
Dearest Brethren: While the genesis of operative masonry is uncertain, the builders were found in the travelling guilds after each Roman conquest and their craft is evidenced in architecture and construction of the gothic cathedrals seen throughout Europe. Others say masonry emanated from the Egyptians whose mastery of astronomy, mathematics and geometry created those pyramids, monuments and obelisks that have withstood the test of time. As 21st Century Masons, we are indebted to the speculative masons for preserving the signs, symbols and allegories passed to them by the sages and adepts and transforming operative masonry into a more perfect level of knowledge and understanding. The beauty of Freemasonry is partially concealed in our ritual and is left to the brother to discover its hidden meanings. As wisdom has guided men of great thought to build the foundations of flourishing civilizations, so it should be our compass to transform us into better members of society. Each petitioner who knocks on our door and is accepted into the fraternity is encouraged to find the true knowledge of himself; where he can master his wills and desires, strive for wisdom and truth and ultimately become a practitioner of those time-honored Masonic virtues. For wisdom is the principle thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Sincerely and Fraternally, |

From the Senior Warden's Station in the West:
“Not for one time but for all ages.” Since its establishment in 1874, men of integrity have been meeting in fellowship at Shakespeare Lodge. With its established customs, etiquette and procedures, our assemblies are far removed from the outside world. It is a haven where like minded men gather to explore the Mysteries of Freemasonry, share in fellowship, and conduct rituals that are virtually unchanged since colonial times. Our goal is to provide an enriching experience for our members through excellence in ritual work, educational sessions, and social gatherings. Although Freemasonry is neither a charity nor a religion, it extols the virtue of Charity and bows reverently to the Divine Creator under whose Fatherhood all men are Brothers. Good men of all faiths for centuries have been drawn to our Fraternity throughout the world. If you would like to learn more about our Lodge and becoming a Mason, contact us through this website.
